The "Portrait" series was inspired by my desire to try to capture a person’s true character. If you look at a realist portrait; whether it is a photograph or a painting, it shows what the subject or the artist want to show about the personality of the subject. The real character of the person is difficult to capture in a realist way of expression. All the paintings in this series are based on, what I conceive to be, the true character of these individuals. I have tried to give colour, moods and movement to each character.
